Rule #2 during Corona Break: There are no other rules.
Sigh.
None of that matters when you have 3 young children at home by yourself and they're playing after bath one night and one trips and accidentally pushes the other one and the 3-year-old falls on the corner of the bed at JUST the right angle and rips open a huge gash in his scalp and gushes blood EVERYWHERE. Thanks to Nana for rushing over to a house she was supposed to be physically contactless from so I could leave the older two kiddos safe at home.
The children's hospital took care of us amazingly efficiently, so if nothing else, at least it was a "good" emergency room experience. The longest period of drama was letting numbing gel sit on his head for 25 minutes with an impressive mummy-wrap around his head.
Unfortunately, I was solo-parenting when the incident occurred. Fortunately, Daddy was still able to entertain us from the airport.
At the end of the night, we went home with 3 souvenir staples in his scalp and quite the tale of adventure to report. Spencer thinks it is very funny to have "stape-el-ers" in his head and is acting completely fine. It was more stress on mommy then baby. Fingers crossed for no more monkeys falling on the bed...
