Limp Celery

Weren't we surprised when an entire stalk of celery recently purchased was soft and limp? So we needed to get rid of it somehow and received a recommendation to visit a local preschool with donkeys and bunnies that enjoy veggie treats. Weren't we surprised that the gates were closed for the weekend? So we googled "horses near me." We were certainly surprised to find an entire farm a mile from us where we were pleasantly greeted by ponies, donkeys, horses, a cat, a dog, and celery-loving goats and pig.
(Note to blog audience who most likely cannot relate: My 6.5-year-old's behavior that morning precluded her participation in such experience.)

The horses were first to greet us.

We next found friendly, bleating goats. Spencer was cautious at first.

It turned out goats like celery and both boys got a kick out of feeding them.

(Check out Petey the puppy curiously watching them.)

We roamed and explored around on the property (looking for the pig) and said hi to donkeys and ponies (and a lot more horses).

We FINALLY found the pig who also was very interested in the celery.

"Here ya go, Piggie."

Spencer was adamant about saving his last celery for the goats.
