Remember the Magic - Magic Kingdom

With Day 1 behind us, *even* Mira wanted to wake up early to get a good start on our adventures for Day 2! Once again, the girls navigated their way to breakfast on the balance beam, and then we were ready to go.

Mira and Aunt Sandi surprised us by making us each our own unique shirt to wear that day: One said "Birthday Girl" (in Disney font, no less, AND with a Mickey "6" on back); one said "#SNACKGOALS"; and one said "I took my niece and daughter to Disney, and all they gave me was this t-shirt" (all true). Day 2 took us to the one-and-only Magic Kingdom! But really, a tram and a ferry took us there.

First views of Cinderella's castle and the park:

After taking our obligatory picture by the castle, we went to "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" ride. While it was our longest line of the day, it won my vote for best wait of the trip as far as the entertaining distractions went.

After a long wait though, we finally made it into the honey pots.

The next ride was a classic and Gabi's favorite of the trip - Dumbo the Flying Elephant!

We stopped in Liberty Square for a brief photo opportunity at the wooden pillories. It was better to have pictures taken than have them used as actual punishment.

Walking towards Adventureland, the giant Tiki Statues provided some cooling sprays on the already hot day.

Next up: The Magic Carpets of Aladdin

We paused in the air conditioning for lunch and some shopping.

Gabi's special shirt led to a lovely surprise dessert in the restaurant.

We got ready to watch the Festival of Fantasy Parade on Main Street and found some ice cream to help us wait. Then we were thoroughly entertained by the wide variety of Disney characters that passed us by.

Yum!

There were many many rides we had to skip due to ridiculously long lines, but no trip to Magic Kingdom is complete without the classic "It's a Small World" boat ride.

(How could Gabi possibly be too distracted to
focus on her mother's obsessive selfies?)

Yup, Israel - where Jewish weddings
happen all day every day.

Not only did Grandma and Grandpa gift 100% of Gabi's Disney tickets for her birthday, they also sent 2 gift cards - 1 for each young lady - to choose her own souvenir. Nighttime at Disney World means lots and lots of glow toys. Out of many many possible choices, Gabi picked this special Mickey wand with a spinning bow tie. It was a very helpful diversion as we waited for the Happily Ever After fireworks show at Cinderella's castle.

We also found other ways to entertain ourselves while waiting.

Once again, the Disney theatrics and production did not disappoint.

One would think that the fireworks show would have been a spectacular grand finale to a grand day, but no. We THEN went to ride on "Under The Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid" AND THEN went to meet Ariel herself at her grotto.

As Magic Kingdom and Cinderella's castle floated away, we knew we had had another good day!
