Take Your Children to Work Day

Now that guests are permitted at the airport tower again, Daddy was thrilled to plan a field to trip to take Team Cohen to visit his workplace. We had some enthusiastic kids (and wife) who finally got to see where he goes and what he does every day.

After whispering in the dark, real radar room, we spent some time in a training room where the kids got to press ACTUAL buttons and explore the equipment! (Disclaimer: Zero planes crashed during our stay at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport Control Tower.)


Ethan was very focused on the job.


I wonder how much Gabi remembers from her brief training received in February 2013.

She looked like she knew what she was doing.

Spencer took over the tour and found some markers for drawing airplanes.


Next, we headed up up up to the tallest room in the tallest tower. These guys were SO excited about the view and watching the airplanes take off and land.




Lastly, we ventured outside, still at the top! We got to walk around the whole crown of the tower and watch a few more airplanes take off from above.
