San Antonio Zoo

Our sunny San Antonio Spring Break continued with a visit to their zoo. We saw big animals and small, climbers and sleepers, loud and quiet, and we enjoyed looking at every one.

When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by a big group of friendly flamingos. And by friendly, I mean overwhelmingly noisy.

Exploring the animals:

If I was a better mommy, I'd know and remember the exact names of each animal. They're pretty cute, though. (Check out the sleeping baby kitten in the second one below.)

EVERYONE KNOWS THIS MOST SPECIAL ANIMAL. Sweet cutie hippos!

We visited some massively big animals in the African Savannah.

Four out of the 5 of us were each on specific missions to find our own chosen favorite animals. We had already crossed off hippos. Gabi was focused on finding lions. Ethan was determined to see an otter. And Spenceman wouldn't stop until he found zebras. We almost missed them, but sure enough, we did find the backsides of a couple striped equines. And sure enough, we had a happy Spenceman.

Sure enough, Gabi held out patiently, and we found her lions!

We took a break for lunch, rest and relaxation, and back to boogies!

As part of "Jungle Boogie Spring Break," they hosted animal interactions in the afternoon. We met a bird, armadillo, and snake. (I'm sure they had cooler names than that.)

They even got to pet the snake.

There's a first time for everything! (Dippin' Dots and funnel cake)
