Chanukah 2019 Night 1 - Bring on the Oil

They tried to kill us. We won. Miraculously, the oil lasted. Now we eat! A LOT of oil. On the first night of Chanukah, Erica was still visiting with us to help us fry up delicious goodies. First up, potato latkes!

It was time to recite the blessings over lighting the first candle.

The lights only get brighter from here.

Latke time!

After we'd had more than our fill of fried potatoes, it was obviously time to fry some dough!

A family that fries together...???

The kiddos helped us coat our freshly fried donuts 2 ways- in powdered sugar and cinnamon sugar.

Delicious results! (This is not the healthiest of holidays...)

And of course, presents arrived because we hadn't had enough special things yet. First, we opened costumes from Grandma and Grandpa: Superman for Ethan, Gecko for Spencer, and Elsa for Gabi.

And since the night hadn't been exciting enough YET, we opened riding toys from Uncle Jason, Aunt Alana, and our Florida cousins (which mostly meant Daddy and Aunt Erica were busy the rest of the night).

Spencer was super pumped and grateful for Aunt Erica's hard work putting his new trike together.
