Purim

One of the attractive reasons we moved to Austin is we were excited about the vibrant Jewish community here. We have access to Kosher meat (unlike smaller cities we've lived in before), and we live just 15 minutes from the local Conservative shul that we were excited about getting involved with. Having lived here for almost 2 years though, this was finally our first year we were able to experience the fun of Purim in Austin. Alyssa and Craig have told us for a while how much they enjoyed the Purim program here, so we were looking forward to it. We also appreciate that our shul has family friendly services for many of the holidays, so we were able to bring Gabi and Ethan early to enjoy that!

Getting into the spirit early, Gabi eats homemade hamentashen at Aunt Syssa's house.

Our lion cub is dressed and ready to go!

Ethan knew that Rabbi Blumofe would also be dressed as a lion
and deliberately wanted to be cool like the rabbi! In actuality, Rabbi
Blumofe thought this coincidence was rather excited and spent
20 minutes dancing around and shmoozing with his baby lion cub.

Super girl was taking her job very seriously and had to assess the situation before letting loose.

But, let loose she did! Gabi became acquainted well with the
gragger and enjoyed making tons of noise. (Surprised?)

Showing off the "SMARTIE" pants costume, get it??

Aunt Syssa and Uncle Craig arrived in time for the adult-friendly Purim service, so we enjoyed time with them before we had to go home.

It's hard to get 4 people all looking at the camera at the same time.

following along with the text like a good Jewish Supergirl
