Winter Break in Driftwood
We were excited that Nana and Zayde were able to return to Texas over Winter Break and that we could return to our favorite house in the Hill Country for a few days. Ethan and Spencer were excited to get straight to work on the Chaunkah projects received the night before, and Reggie was excited to get back to Nana's bed.
Chanukah Night 2:
Kiddos were eager to immediately read the books Nana chose for them as Chanukah presents.
The next morning, we headed to Charro Ranch Park.
Back at the house, Spencer played as many rounds of Boggle with Zayde as absolutely possible.
Was it the end of December and "winter"? Yes. Was it ridiculously warm and in the 70s? Yes. Had we packed bathing suits? Nope. Was the pool water cold? Likely. Did the kids care? Nope.
Chanukah Night 3:
Ethan worked really hard to make beautiful picture collages for each member of Team Cohen. Daddy had a sweet emotional reaction to receiving his gift.
Another successful round of gifts from Nana and Zayde:

Family bonding moments:
It was the third day of Chanukah and time for one of our favorite annual Team Cohen Chanukah traditions: (apple latkes and) homemade donuts.
Ready for Chanukah Night 4!
We enjoyed multiple beautiful night walks with Nana, an amazingly clear sky, and ZERO light pollution.
On our last afternoon in Driftwood, we went on a family field trip to visit the neighborhood longhorns. We brought yummy treats to feed these gentle 1,000+ pound giants.
Who knew we would also engage on a mission to save a turtle that afternoon?
After days of intense focus and starting over THREE (!!!) times, Spencer completed his rather challenging Albert mini-brick project.
And before heading home to Austin, we lit candles for the 6th night of Chanukah and our final night with Nana and Zayde.
