Girls Weekend!

When Daddy took the boys to Florida, that left Mommy and Gabi to have a girls' staycation! The first day was spent mostly spending a lot of money on new teenager clothes and seeing The Wild Robot in the theater. She also requested Burger King for lunch.

On Sunday, we took a day trip to San Antonio and had a long, full, busy, fun day!

Our first stop was the San Antonio Aquarium.







Gabi had been most looking forward to the Koi Walk since she saw Ethan's videos from his special trip with Mommy. She loved walking with and petting the koi fish so much, she did it twice.

These two amused me a lot. (And this was after 5 minutes of observation of the same behavior.)

Back inside, Gabi and I enjoyed feeding and interacting with the parakeets, whom we learned eat for about 20 hours a day.

Yes, a parakeet landed on the phone, and yes, we thought it was incredibly entertaining.

Last but not least, we were front row at the "Parrot Talk" and met beautiful macawas and parrots. We even got to hold one.


After a brief stop for lunch, the party continued at the San Antonio Zoo.



The highlight of our zoo experience was when we fed Cosmo, an 18-foot tall giraffe.



We ended the day at the San Antonio Riverwalk, strolling along the waterway and enjoying some sweet treats.
