17 Years of Wedded Bliss

Jon and I often find anniversary gift motivation by starting with the made up list of traditional and modern anniversary gifts. For the 17th, it's furniture. Apparently, gifting each other furniture represents the security, comfort and familiarity of a marriage that's been established for almost 20 years. And Jon and I separately went in similar directions with backyard, outdoor family fun.

Family fun started by putting together the Debbie-bought hammock in the perfect hammock-sized spot in the corner.

The other nicely shareable gift was the Jon-bought firepit. Jon and Gabi put it together just in time for babysitting fun in the backyard after dinner.

The next night, we got ourselves a date night with 6 less children than the night before. Happy 17 years of security, comfort and familiarity of marriage!
