Sir Ethan, the Royal Reader

The reader formerly known as Ethan Robert set a goal for himself earlier this year. At his school, a scholar is deemed a "Royal Reader" with the reading of 1 MILLION words (as evidenced by books' comprehension tests). Determined to receive such a title, he has been reading books both large, small, and in between. (Duck Goes Potty only had 77 words.) At long last, he did it! We are so very proud of him.

henceforth and forever to be known as "Sir Ethan, the Royal Reader" (for the rest of 2nd grade at least...)

His majesty's royal parents gifted him his own tablet reader to honor the great reading that he has done to achieve this milestone.

A few days later, Team Gilden joined us to help celebrate the occasion by making edible books! We used markers with edible ink to decorate the covers, melted the pages, and enjoyed the ooey gooey fun.

(Ethan's book title was quite fitting for the occasion.)
