The Rest of December 2022

What a busy month Team Cohen had at the end of 2022! I'm exhausted just blogging about it. Here's the rest of the fun that we couldn't fit in the other posts, starting with kittens and puppies.

"Seat's taken."

Get out!

story time

Knox came to spend one weekend with us, and Ethan enjoyed and extra roommate for a couple of nights.

The school library issued a winter break reading challenge that Spencer wanted to start right away by coloring in "read with a doll."

Ethan's getting excited about his upcoming basketball season in January, and he did some extra drills and practices this month to prepare.

Keyword being, "Almost!"

Two mouths become a bit holier this month:

(Not related to teeth falling out) Ethan finally got to try a DQ banana split.

Speaking of ice cream, I got to have special time with Shayna!

Speaking of Gildens, I got to walk home from school with JoEthan one afternoon, the slowest walk of my life.

Speaking of bros:

more Winter Festival fun

Speaking of winter themed fun, Gabi and Spencer showed us how they learned to dance and respond to the musical changes of the Nutcracker at school.

Speaking of winter holidays:

feeling the holiday spirit

school holiday party

ready for Chanukah

We participated, once again, in our favorite Christmas tradition of preparing boxes of cookies to deliver to first responders and other healthcare professionals who work and take care of their community on their special holiday.

On New Year's Eve, we were ready to celebrate in style with accessories and ice cream!

How we feeling about 2023?!

Waco Zoo

For a final Team Cohen field trip of 2022, we went to the Waco Zoo for the day. It was a first for all 5 of us and quite lovely!

lemurs

Spencer had a lot of fun finding and identifying turtles based on ear and belly colors. He quickly became friends with the yellow-bellied type.

You can imagine Ethan's excitement when we found the OTTERS!!!

The giraffes were fun to watch.

Jon says squirrel monkeys are his new favorite animal. He's not wrong.

meerkats

Galapagos tortoises

It's almost as if these children are being raised by people who have modeled taking pictures of ALL the unnecessary things. They just kept demanding pictures here, and there, with this, doing that...

And last, but not least, we interacted with an orangutan who had been temporarily kicked out of its larger habitat. Hopefully, we were as entertaining to it as it was to us.
