That time we woke up to dozens of turkeys crossing Nana and Zayde's property on the week of Thanksgiving...Escaping much??
While we LOVE spending time with Teams Gilden and Cohan, we had one-and-only-one day with just Team Cohen with Nana and Zayde. We took full advantage of our special time together by driving to "Old Baldy," a site with beautifully rewarding 360-degree views of Wimberley, Texas after hiking the 218 steps up.
Since we were already so close, we drove to the Square in Downtown Wimberley, exploring that area and making our way along the Cypress Creek Nature Trail and Preserve.
Back at the homefront, we spent a lot of time in the kitchen, a lot of time outside, and a lot of time together.
On Wednesday night, Team Cohan arrived, and the house got a bit louder.
You can take the teacher out of the preschool, but you can't take the preschool out of the teacher. (How else do you stall dinner while hungry kids are waiting for it to finish cooking?) |
Of course, these 2 pousin (puppy cousin) baby girls were so happy to be reunited!
And just like that, Team Gilden was back in Driftwood, and it was all uphill [or downhill - choose your outlook on life] from there.
Thanks to Nana's secret ice cream cake recipe (and some chalk drawings that ALMOST got destroyed by the rain), we were able to celebrate Aunt Sandi's birthday from earlier in the week before we were all together.
The rest of the week and weekend continued, once again, with time in the kitchen, time outside, and lots of time together. Here's Friday, November 26.
Cousins' Crafts:
"The Reading Corner" became a very welcome 'thing.'
Playing games together was a fun thing too.
Saturday, November 27:

Saturday in the Kaye Kompound was declared official turkey night.
Saturday also meant canned whipped cream for "pumpkin pie" {wink}.
Boy bonding:
Sunday, November 28 was our last day of family togetherness for the week AND Erev Channukah. We all had to get straight to work.
Ok, maybe some of us were less busy with the business than others...
But for real, we had some serious work to do for latke preparation in advance celebration of our impending holiday.
