HFLA Turns 10!

For two-and-a-half years now, I have served as the first and only staff (Operations Manager) of Hebrew Free Loan of Austin. In November 2021, we celebrated a successful 10th Anniversary of the organization that strives to provide a hand up, not a hand out, to those in financial need in our greater Austin Jewish community by providing interest-free loans. We snuck away to the Founder's ranch in La Grange, TX to spend the day with the Board of Directors and their families, It was a gorgeous ranch and a gorgeous day.

We started by exploring the beautiful property.


We had a lot of fun visiting with the donkeys!




Our kiddos spent a good portion of our time at the ranch fishing for their very first time(s). It turns out the fishes REALLY like Kosher hot dogs.

Each kid in each family got a different piece of wood to paint for our new family birdhouse to take home at the end of the party.

Back to fishing!

They were quite the experts by the end of the afternoon.
