And also for the first time in 14 months, the adults found time and space without children. So we celebrated. Alone. With alcohol.
Joey and Spencer currently attend different classes in the same half-day preschool. Team Cohen's bus service picks them up after lunch each day and brings them home for afternoon rest. Essentially, it's TCDC Extended Care, and it's pretty cute.
Lest you were worried - despite no longer spending 5 hours daily together, the Spencer-Shayna love is as strong as ever.
Getting rid of the children for a few hours each day allowed me to breathe and focus and prioritize and concentrate, and do so calmly in quiet. It also allowed me time to take daily morning Reggie walks and attend Aunt Syssa's hair donation party.

Packing up the entire team to go to weekly puppy training sessions, requires a bit of coaxing and bribing, so donuts are becoming a common thing. But what happens when they're "hot, fresh, now" and they throw donuts at you just for walking in the store? You gotta sit down and eat them! (And then bring some home for the other people still waiting.)

In animal updates - poor Rona doesn't always get autonomy on where her body goes.
Poor Reggie doesn't always get the full space on her bed.
Anyone who has ever seen the movie 50 First Dates understands that you can manipulate your memories from the records you keep. The question (for me) becomes - which memories do I want to hold on to? I include some of these memories, hoping I look back on them with a lighthearted eyeroll, reminiscing about "those days"...Maybe??? Which of the following moments would you share?
