Vaccinated Life

The most exciting part of April 2021 was probably the 2nd dose of COVID vaccines for both adults in Team Cohen!!! This brings with it the hope of more social opportunities, less homebound restrictions, and slightly more peace of mind opening our family's thoughts and considerations to a "new normal" out in the community in a safe way.

We were nervously prepared to be out of commission from the after-symptoms of the second dose. With the exception of sore arms, the exhaustion we felt was likely just life-related.

I let myself live the vaccinated life, fulfilling some self-care goals that I've been wanting for quite some time.

We continue to try to emerge a little more out of the house as we deem safe and comfortable, which includes our return to playgrounds (masked when other families are present). On this afternoon, we had the entire playground around the corner to ourselves, and they could be happy kids playing happily and showing off their happy faces.

Coronavirus, and the threat of disease, is far from over, and we continue to take it seriously, using what scientists and doctors recommend as best practices. At the same time, it's been quite a long year that has quite literally affected everyone around the world, and we're ready to consider venturing out into said world again.

With the combination of Daddy working more, the kids being around less, and Team Cohen feeling a bit more comfortable emerging out of the bubble, we brought back "Special Daddy Time" this month, 1-on-1 dates between Daddy and a child. Spencer and Gabi had turns this month with Ethan eager and excited for his coming soon. All activities will remain outdoors, and we are so lucky to live in an area where that's not a concern in the least!

Fun fact: Jon took both Gabi and Spencer to the same outdoor spot on the same day, just spaced out by several hours. Check out the difference several hours makes on the communal chalk wall:

We are looking forward to breathing more healthy air outside of our home as the days, weeks, and months continue.
