Cohen Chanukah Part 1

Regardless of religious significance, Chanukah will forever remain one of the most joyous, exciting, engaging, and interactive holidays. With the familiar theme of "They tried to kill us. We won; let's eat," Chanukah has its own celebratory fried and sugary foods, beautiful lights, fun games, catchy songs, and a few presents. What's not to like?!

Ready to bring in the season, the kiddos did some preparations:

Duplo chanukiyah

Gabi decorated the sidewalk in front of our house with chalk art.

Night 1 arrived, and we were excited!

Did we eat latkes on night 1? No, BUT we did it fried fish and (roasted) potatoes in oil. Could they start eating? Yes, after they take a smiley picture. Could they have gelt? You guessed it...

After dinner, we got our dough ready for some more frying! Homemade sufganiyot (donuts) certainly helps a family feel festive!

I don't know if Florida had any gifts left in the state because Grandma and Grandpa certainly sent a lot to these special grandchildren. They were very excited to open their new stuffed friends from Grandma and Grandpa!

Introducing Brona, Drago, and Ellie!

On Night 2, we had increased light with the addition of Shabbat candles.
