Miscellaneous May

Our Spring has been very rainy, and with the exception of a few days, we have yet to see the scorching heat that May usually brings. But with the end of May, public schools are taking a break, pools are opening, and we're ready for summer whatever the weather brings!

It seems no one told Ethan the weather was warming up, though. Before letting himself lay down, he took the time to put on long pants, longs sleeves, jacket, and hat before nap (most of which required manipulating a step stool around his room to reach). Then, he didn't quite have as much time to sleep as he would have liked.

More Ethan moments presented caption-free (2 of which are upside down):

For those of you who aren't around us all the time, Spencer is adorable and very 2:
We may not actually be ready
for our video bragging.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane?
NO! It's flying SUPER-SPENCEMAN!
a music man

Then again, he's very 2:

When Daddy got out an apple bigger than Spencer's head to share, Spencer decided there was no sharing.

Gabi has continued working hard in Taekwondo, earning her 3rd stripe on her white belt, making her eligible for graduating to the next colored belt. (Just in time for us to take a break for the summer though...)

(except for that time she fell asleep in
uniform before making it out the door)

We all survived Gabi's first year of elementary school. I helped volunteer at their end-of-year Field Day and caught a look at this fun in the bubble pit:

We've certainly had quite the school year.

Also in Gabi-ville:

When we had a weekday with no school and no camp (and no brothers!),
Mommy and Gabi snuck off for a girls date to the movies!

Baby tooth #2 fell out at the end of May
with the help of some corn on the cob!

Wouldn't it be nice to imagine my life being this pleasant and my children always getting along this sweetly with each other?

And of course, my serene life would include these calm young boys helping so nicely in the kitchen. Go ahead and pretend life is always this ideal with beautifully fluffy, homemade challahs all the time.

Of course, these placid, peaceful moments free of disturbance must include some silliness. Otherwise, you may not think it would be be realistic.

Ok - back to actual reality...
With warmer temperatures upon us, it was time to see more bathing suits and more water play!

(We had a little fun with the slow mo setting.)

Another day, another opportunity for water!

Nana and Zayde babysat Shayna and Joey one weekend, so we had an epic picnic cousins pizza!

Then, we brought the party to their house another day to surprise Zayde with an ice cream cake for his upcoming birthday!

We received a special package of pajamas at the end of May from Grandma and Grandpa, and these boys could not have been more excited to be "matching brothers!!!"

Some truly miscellaneous moments to round out your May. Happy summer, folks!
