Christmas in the Hill Country

It's been said, "It's hard to be a Jew on Christmas." But when your parents have a huge house in the hill country to escape to, it wasn't so bad. We headed to Driftwood for a few days over winter break and had a lovely time with family! By the time Team Cohen arrived, the Gildens and Cohans had already been together for a couple of days, so we snuck right in and kept on exploring with them right away.

After the exploring, some people thought it was time to return to the house for lunch. Others thought it was time to pile on Aunt Sandi.

With such a big house, you never knew who'd be with whom.

With just 1 harmonica, 1 aunt, and 1 Bop-it game, 5.5 kids can be thoroughly entertained:
Feel free to either watch the 1 minute of build-up beforehand
OR fast forward to 1:05 for the real deal.

And THEN we discovered that Mira and Gabi had amazing matching zebra pajamas! And then Shayna wanted to bond with the girl cousins. And then Ethan wanted to be in the pajama cool kids club. (And then, we bid adieu to Team Gilden.)

The next morning was business as usual.

Due to some post-Christmas Texas rain, we found an indoor Hoppin' House to explore (and were both too busy paying attention to/ignoring the children to take many pictures).

In the afternoon, we were able to go outside with Aunt Sandi for some damp fun before dinner.

Special Aunt Debbie time with Mira and Jacob at Dairy Queen (well, in the parking lot at Dairy Queen):

On Thursday morning, Aunt Sandi was feeling under the weather, so we stole Mira and Jacob and brought the crew to Founders Park in Dripping Springs.

Before we headed back to Austin, we had some special snuggles, each kiddo with a special adult. Merry Christmas to all!
