Three's a Charm for Ethan!

Labor Day Weekend used to mean birthday celebrations for Jon and Debbie. In 2014, along came a little baby who changed all that. Labor Day Weekend now means everything Ethan, and this year we celebrated big guy turning THREE with food, family, and tons of fun! At his well check visit, he measured 3'1" (43%) and weighed 36lb (86%). We got a special surprise in the form of 3 Cohans who were able to come party with us (in addition to our favorite Austin Gildens)!

On Saturday morning, our clocks turned yellow and the fun began right away!

We ventured to Lester Field for a remote control air show!

At several moments, it appeared that these 5 children were unsupervised, meh.

The sandpit was a big hit as well.

Saturday afternoon, the fun continued in our backyard with sprinklers and popsicles

Mira and Jacob taught Gabi and Ethan how to play leap frog.

Boker Tov, party people! Sunday Funday arrived!

Bring it.

Mira helped me put some last minute touches on the cupcake cones she helped me bake the night before.

It was finally time for Ethan's Pool Party!

We appreciated many of our friends (AND family!) coming out to increase the laughs and liveliness!

Matt and Erin

Crystal and Lucas; Lily and Jonah

Lauren and Arthur

Bassett family: Will, Wesley, Andrew, and Alice

Smith family: Grant, Addi, Maven, and Jill

Mira and Spencer

Hawthornes: Keryn, Bailey, and Jaime

Spencer and Daddy

Joey and Uncle Craig

Mommy, Spencer, and Aunt Sandi

Some folks didn't get the 'silly faces' memo.

Gabi, Uncle Craig, Joey, and Grandy

Time to sing to the birthday boy!

Enjoying cupcake cones!

Wesley and Jonah

Jacob and Mira may have eaten
their desserts faster than Joey.

the traditional book exchange was a hit

But wait, there's more! He still hadn't turned THREE officially yet...until Monday, September 4th! We obviously had to do more special things!
"Today, he's 3!!!"

We came downstairs and got right into the business of opening presents

Oh man. Pure joy was reached when he opened up a karaoke music player from Nana and Zayde that had Wiggles songs already loaded and ready for singing. You've never seen a happier 3-year-old.

2 mics = double the fun

The friends pool party was enjoyable and all, but what about the "Mira/Jacob Ethan Birthday Party?" For that, we had a bowling party at Uncle Buck's Fish Bowl, Ethan and Gabi's first ever bowling alley.

(The underwater aquatic theme added a special touch.)

On Monday afternoon, since we hadn't eaten enough junk, we had an ice cream cake for the birthday boy!

It was a family affair!
We were extremely grateful to all the cousins, aunts,
and uncle who celebrated with us all weekend.

When we returned to school a couple days later, we brought mini-cupcakes to have one last celebration with his classmates. Happy 3rd Birthday, Ethan Robert!
