Jacob's Birthday Weekend

We are so grateful to live in Austin and are fortunate enough to be able to see more family more often.  This means extra special-aunt-and-uncle-time and extra special-cousin-time! When we were invited to cousin Jacob's birthday party in Houston, I decided to brave the trek by myself (since Jon had to work) with the 2 little ones, and I'm so glad we did. We had a great weekend together!

We arrived early enough on Friday afternoon for play time and snuggles:

Mira and Gabi play some nice tunes on the keyboard.

"Hey, ladies."

sweet Mira-Ethan snuggles

Dance party! (And it looks like Nana found what she needed in the pantry.)

Big cousin Mira gives Ethan a gentle bath.

The afternoon of the party arrives! When will our friends get here???

This is how Ethan waits for the party...And perhaps, I'm waiting with a Cheez-It or two...or three...

SOCCER PARTY! Birthday Boy Jacob was ready to go!

Perhaps a lot of running 5-year-olds was too much for these less than 2-year-olds?

The coach organized great games and soccer activities for the kids.

Gabi found a way to enjoy the soccer party after all.

Jacob consults with his team before the scrimmage.

Time for cake! Happy Birthday to Jacob!!!

Post-party fun includes playing with balloons (and Nana).

Post-party fun most definitely includes a customized manicure from a niece!

And of course, post-party would not be fun without special-aunt-time with ice cream from The Chocolate Bar! (Don't worry, folks, my ice cream was not chocolate.)

It should be noted that Ethan and I had a lovely lunch with Aunt Mor on Sunday, and we were so busy chatting away that we forgot to take a picture to help remember the moment. Ah well.
