December 2014

Here's all the rest of the family fun we had in December!

The 2 siblings are learning to get along. Is Gabi about to turn 2? Yes. Is Ethan still under 4 months old? Yes. Does that mean they get along PERFECTLY? No. Will they grow up to be the bestest of friends? Of course. In the mean time, they sure pretend to get along really well in the following pictures:

(I believe she was shouting "HI NOAH" to her cousin at the time.)

"Hey there, handsome! Come here often?"

December 4, 2014 - Ethan Robert turns 3 months old! Ethan's naps continue to be in an adult's arms. His nights have gotten much worse and inconsistent, but boy is this little dude smiley! He still gives the smiles away for pretty cheap too! His giggles are contagious, and he'll chat up a lovely conversation with you.

Gabi has enjoyed helping Mommy cook when she can. She likes to "wash" but would prefer "hep Mommy sir!" She'll even show you where you can put the "seps - rite heah!"

We are so lucky that there has been very little jealousy since Ethan came into our family. Gabi loves her baby brother, and even though she doesn't always know how to show it, these pictures certainly capture a lot of love!

Taking care of baby doll requires a lot of responsibility from exposing her to great literature to keeping her well-nourished.

Gabi plays with Daddy at the park:

Remember when I said that the kitties wouldn't be featured too much in the blog anymore? Sometimes, they get lucky...Especially when hanging with their favorite (and only) baby brother!

December 9, 2014 - not a special day in your book by any means...But for Team Cohen, it was a gorgeous day in Austin, and we had a gorgeous family day together!

"No, Gabi push."
We started the day at Brushy Creek Lake Park. We climbed on the playground, threw rocks in the water, discovered shadows...all in a good day's fun!

We ended the day with books and snuggles. Ethan may not have wanted to share Mommy's lap as much as big sister Gabi, but we figured out how to play nicely.

After 3.5 months of waiting, big boy Ethan finally starts bringing toys to his mouth!

Our friends are turning 2, and birthday season has begun!

Gabi enjoys a cupcake (more like dipping her face in icing) at Allison's party.

fun at Gymboree at Graham's party - She LOVED the bubbles!

Like all good kids, Gabi eats her veggies before getting dessert. (In other words, what normal child eats raw broccoli???)

Gotta love awesome party favors!

This strong man was ready to sit up like a big boy in the Bumbo. He was happy about it, especially as the spit up was coming out...

If I didn't take as many pictures, these posts wouldn't be as long (or as random), but then these cute moments wouldn't be captured.

There's an Ethan coming
out of Daddy.

Gabi wanted to wear a hat
just like Daddy.

Hanging out at the Domain
one afternoon.

So far my favorite picture of these 2 Cohen cuties!

Good thing we have a tall Daddy to help us swing across!

fun times with Mommy

Gentle load?

Who doesn't love a good 'ol dance party in the kitchen?

For the 2nd year in a row, we spent the day after Christmas with Aunt Erica. New tradition, perhaps?

After years of watching and enjoying my challah, Erica decides she can manage to learn how to braid the loaves. And the turned out beautifully!

Erica was super excited about meeting 3.5 month old Ethan for the first time! He seemed pretty okay with the meeting as well.

Gabi and Ethan both cuddle up with Aunt Erica.

A less responsible tradition is eating DELICIOUS donuts whenever Erica comes to town...and then taking extremely attractive pictures of ourselves in the process.

Is my daughter a picky eater? Yes.
Does she still manage to get excited about raw broccoli and ask for several pieces? Yes.

Does that make any sense? Nope.

No matter how much a mom does, you think a
good dad is one who simply wears his baby...
How about the dad who wears his baby while
changing a light-bulb up on a ladder?

And FINALLY, we come to the end of December and the end of 2014. It's been exhausting but thrilling. In short reflection, 2013 was pretty amazing followed by a pretty special 2014.
Happy 2015, friends!

For those loyal blog fans who are still reading this post, I share with you some video cuteness:
In the beginning, there were giggles...But in the beginning of the giggles, it took some heavy shaking for full effect. No baby was harmed.
Ethan has a story he wanted to tell you.

Can you figure out what she wants?
I've offered her everything on the table.

Twist and Shout and dance with Daddy.
