Galveston 2025

The new school year was fast approaching, so we needed to sneak in summer fun while we still could. Less than 24 hours after 40% of our family came home for the first time in 3.5 weeks, we left home for our annual family vacation to Galveston! Our first stop on the road trip was in Brenham at the Bluebell Ice Cream Factory.

Onward to our final destination!

We settled in to our beach house, ate a quick dinner, and then ran to the beach for a sunset swim!

We enjoyed the last few minutes of the beautiful dusk glow before heading back to the house for the night.

On the morning of Day 2, Spencer and Mommy took Reggie on an early beach walk.

Before packing up to spend the extended morning at the beach, there was some heavy rain that gave us some puddles to play in.

Off we went to enjoy Day 2's beach adventures.

Ethan got to digging a big hole, and one thing led to another.

Without sharing the memo with Mommy, there was a battle between the red shirts and the yellow shirts that afternoon.

After dinner, we went out for a sunset walk to explore the area on a lovely evening with a bright moon shining.

The next morning, the whole fam jam joined the early morning walk.

Day 3's adventures in the water:

On Day 3, it was time for some classic Cohen sand pictures, and a bonus mermaid!

Day 3's afternoon took us to one of our favorite Galveston traditions - a dolphin tour!

It was a great afternoon for dolphin viewing. Our guide told us eventually, "Guys, if you haven't seen a dolphin by now, I can't help ya. Just look in the water. You gotta do some of the work here."

After the dolphin tour, we boarded another ship, the 1887 Elissa, one of the oldest ships still sailing today.

Next up on the Galveston Strand, our classic family picture by the mural.

And last, but not least on our downtown adventure was a visit to La King's, where we got to watch a live taffy pull AND enjoy their sweet treats.

Day 4 was our last day in Galveston. We returned for one final early morning pup walk.

The excitement of the last day came with Aunt Mor, Jackie, and Lev who visited from Houston for the day.

We were lucky that Aunt Mor and kiddos hung out with us for the afternoon as well.

Most of us went out for another field trip to return to the Strand where Team Cohen visited the day before. The kiddo combo was so sweet together. We thought it would be a similar experience as the previous afternoon...until we ran into the snake guy. Didn't see that coming.

We returned to La King's for the 2nd day in a row, just in time for another taffy pull! We were experts on the process by then.

Last but not least (before we returned to the real world of bedtimes and responsibility), we went for a late night ferry ride.
