Misc. July 2025 - Pre CYJ, Pre Cruise

Team Cohen spent 2 weeks of July together before Mommy and Daddy spent a week of July at home with no kids. Then, we left the cats and house to fend for themselves while Mommy and Daddy sailed away.

Mira went out of her way to do a quick stop in Austin before starting her staff adventure at CYJ.

Mommy gave blood at the Q2 Stadium, home of the Austin FC. Vamos Verde!

7/11 Slurpie Day!

We hung out at Driftwood the night before camp dropoff.

On the very night of camp dropoff, Mommy and Daddy treated ourselves to a night out.

Mommy continued her social fun on nights when she had no kids AND no husband with pottery painting with Melissa and piercing/queso with Susan!

Since we'd be out of town for Syssa's birthday, I surprised her with an early celebratory ice cream cake. Micah counted at least 30 something candles before we ran out.

Fur baby update (3/5, at least):

FINALLY using the kitty window hammock Jon bought "me" for Mother's Day

This post has a lot of befores, so we'll end with an after. We had a LOT of rain this season, and I enjoyed these spouts of beauty on my walks, the beauty after the storms:

CYJ Dropoff

While this was our 5th summer dropping off children at Camp Young Judaea (CYJ), this was our first FIRST summer dropping off ALL THREE children. And ALL THREE were embarking on the full session adventure of 3.5 weeks for the first time! We had some excited kiddos ready to go.

Our favorite staff member greeted us right at the front gate!

Lice check and waiting for meds drop off:

CohGilhans united! Excited for this great support system of cousins!

It was time to leave our excited babies in the capable hands of energetic, young camp counselors for a month.

Girlfriend was ESPECIALLY eager to be returning to camp after a two year hiatus.

Typhoon Texas

Our bags were packed, and they were ready to go (to CYJ)! So we squeezed in a family fun day at Typhoon Texas before sending the kids away for a month. Team Cohen had a great day together.

Right at the "end" of our time at the water park - when we THOUGHT we were going to change out of our bathing suits - we passed the Foam Daddy blaster...We didn't quite get changed out of our bathing suits right away...
