Misc. September 2024

September saw birthdays, a family simcha, travel, and sports. We got in the groove of school and tried to keep up with as many things as we could.

Spencer and Mommy enjoyed time together at the Thinkery:

Micah requested a "Reggie playdate."

Nana and Zayde gifted Ethan a huge double digit desk for his room. He helped put it together, and he was enthusiastic about rearranging his room furniture to make it fit.

These needy kittens cry and cry and cry every morning until they get their treats. Who's training whom?

Spencer started a new soccer team with Shay and almost all of his besties from school. We're hoping the season proves to be more than an expensive recess.

Ethan started playing with the Rockies this month. It is not an ideal situation with the schedule of practices, and he is doing the best he can to be a valuable member of his team. He is proud to be their star pitcher and started the first inning of the first game of the season with no players on base and even achieved no hitters in both innings he pitched. He earned the very first game ball of the season!

School friend Liam came to Ethan's first game to help cheer him on.

The following picture represents a moment of great pride for Mommy. When Mommy's head was spinning and about to fall off in pain one afternoon and Daddy was working, these three children teamed up cooperatively and made dinner 100% by themselves, which included whole wheat toast, eggs for protein, and a fruit smoothie.

Gabi and Mommy built a fort together while we had the house to ourselves.

Gilden togetherness this month included lots of baseball and soccer fandom and celebrating Uncle Craig's 40th birthday!

A most special celebration was enjoyed across 3 countries and 7 states when 35 descendants came together virtually to celebrate Gigi turning ONE HUNDRED!

Debbie Goes to Montreal

I was excited to represent Hebrew Free Loan of Austin when the International Association of Jewish Free Loans annual conference went to Montreal. I explored the city with 2 awesome board members, Dana and Stuart. It was a fun city to explore with many international cultures and cuisines represented, and a lovely outdoor walking atmosphere that provided a nice cool break from the Texas heat.

Meanwhile at the conference, it was nice to see folks in person that I've connected with virtually over the years.

The conference concluded, and I had some time to explore Montreal on my own.

Mt. Royal had beautiful views of the city skyline.

Fall had already begun up there.

The Ring (art installation)

I took myself around to a couple cathedrals to appreciate the grandness of the architecture and art built within.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, these three finished birthday dessert fondue and did just fine with Daddy.
