Because "why not?", we stopped off in Houston to visit with our favorite family there and get some sweets with our sweets.
We arrived in our favorite beach town; we settled into our favorite beach house; we enjoyed one of our favorite meals. And then, we headed to the beach for a most fun sunset splash.
Day 2 started as most good beach days do with a lovely walk along the shore, with some sugar cereal of course.
My fur baby, who was largely ignored most of the trip, did phenomenally in the water, especially for a baby girl who is typically a big wuss around water!
Fast forward through breakfast and beach prep, and we were back at the water with sunscreen, suits, and smiles!
For the first time in all the years we've been visiting Galveston, we discovered the Galveston Children's Museum!
And since bedtime doesn't exist on vacation, we went back to the beach for a THIRD time that day for another evening swim.
On Day 3, we finally acknowledged that the years' old, degrading boogie boards had reached the end of their lives and treated the family to brand new ones!
Day 3 saw us digging in the sand a lot, creating some of our favorite annual sand pictures.
In the afternoon, we took the free Galveston Island Ferry to the Bolivar Peninsula. We were treated to quite a dolphin show on our voyage, and a hermit crab joined us for a bit of the time.
Day 4 and last day at the beach!
We continued with more Team Cohen Galveston must-do's on our last afternoon when we headed to the Strand for pictures and treats.
These babies hadn't seen a cool bubble gum ball machine like this before. So 50 cents later... |
One more night in town called for one more evening swim.
We had to get up and out early on our last morning, but not before we could enjoy another strange annual tradition with our final vacation breakfast.
