As of 2022, Team Cohen has now built our very own beautiful backyard sukkah three years in a row, and our custom is now tradition. We have a rhythm and a routine now, and we all know how to work together to help it take shape.
Now that the framework was in place, it was time to start enhancing with decorations. We invited our favorite Austin cousins to help make it their own as well. Teamwork makes the dream work!
We took one more afternoon to ready the decorations and add the furniture.
Nailed it!
Even though we were set to officially begin the holiday that evening, the kiddos just couldn't wait and needed to eat breakfast in the sukkah right away. Who was I to say 'no'?
At long last, Sukkot finally arrived. As is tradition, we started the holiday inviting extra guests into our Sukkah and were excited to host our first ever "Fondukah" (fondue in the sukkah)!
On night 2, our guests returned, and we got to do the lulav (and etrog) shake!
We continued the mitzvah that weekend and invited FIFTEEN guests into our sukkah for our epic finale. Welcome, Teams Cohan and Gilden!
Time for edible sukkot! Fun to make; fun to eat.
Eating and togetherness continued with dinner in the sukkah.
Another debut of Fondukah!
Cousins Havdalah:
The epic night concluded with an epic snuggle and lateover, watching a movie projected on the Sukkah wall.
