Halloween 2021

Another COVID Halloween has come and gone. This year felt a little more friendly and a little more relaxed. On the weekend before, we visited a Halloween Festival at our local YMCA. The cute little baby chick pictures and kiddos' craft project were the sole representative pictures:

Next up in Halloween prep - which of course, is truly minimal in Team Cohen - PUMPKIN CARVING! Gabi was my bravest helper (which was different than past years), and the boys were...there too...

Our finished friend:

(They decided on "Jimmy.")

Pause for seasonally necessary pumpkin pie!
Practicing costume fun with cousins:

In preparation of our non-routine night ahead, we joined the Gildens for a perfectly casual dinner of "Dip-apalooza!"

As Gabi was putting on her costume of "Gator Girl" before the boys got their super suits on, I realized I briefly had THREE cutely themed Gator fans!

Everyone got their fabulous outfits on; the unicorn was back and ready to entertain; and we were all ready to tour the neighborhood and collect sugar from friendly strangers.

Super twinsies!

Trick-or-treating, here we go!

The Rest of October

Once a month, we need a behind the scenes look at what else we do that isn't highlighted elsewhere.

First off, a screenshot we took during the lovely conversation we had online with Gigi last month but forgot to share:

Moving on to these goofs:

Ethan kinda skipped Kindergarten and never had the opportunity to participate in our synagogue's Kindergarten Consecration. The shul gave him the opportunity this month. It was certainly a family affair:

Part of the present Ethan received from shul was a laminated placemat of the Hebrew alphabet along with honey sticks. The consecrants were encouraged to lick honey from the placemat, recognizing the sweetness of the Jewish educational journey they're embarking on. Ethan found all 4 letters of his Hebrew name and followed the shul's recommendation very well.

How else do you use up sugary edible Sukkot supplies after the holiday is over? Gotta make more obviously!

Soccer continued every Saturday this month:

On the last day of the soccer season, we got donuts, medals, and some surprise guests!

When the big cats are away early to school, the rest of us mice will play:

Living so close to the Gildens, we surprise ourselves by running into them on walks at times. Once this month, I was out with Ethan on the scooter. We ran into Uncle Craig and Micah in the stroller. Then, it got confusing:

Another time, we were walking Reggie after dinner, and the Gildens were on their way to school spirit night at fro yo. Plans change sometimes.

Gabi and some creative food designs:

Bye bye, car seat back!

In other Cohen car seat updates, Spencer upgraded to the "big kid car seat" and was crazy excited about it!
