Driftwood Birthday Party

We were able to sneak away for a 2-day, 1-night joint birthday party for our 2 of our favorite Austin cousins. So what if the pool temperature was in the 60s and the air temperature was in the 50s?

Thank goodness for brave Uncle Craig, taking 1 for the adult team!

Those who stayed out of the pool were in jackets, and those who went in needed warm, dry towels after!

Warm snuggles and inside air helped these wussy Texans thaw out:

All babies were thoroughly entertained and certainly not harmed, even though the laughter can be mistaken for pain at times.

It wouldn't have been a birthday party without cupcake cones!

Nana was ready with the perfect October craft for ages 3-7! All "big kids" enjoyed decorating their pumpkins with themed stickers.

Thank you, Nana!

We finished the evening with homemade cousins' pizza outside after the weather had warmed up pleasantly.

Next morning, the kiddos were excited to try out Nana and Zayde's croquet set they had just brought down from Georgia.

Ethan was put in charge of preparing the preschool kids for naptime.

In the afternoon, we kept the party going with ice cream!

Then, the kiddos were back in the pool. The outside air was considerably warmer than the day before but certainly not the water temperature. Uncle Craig was back at it on all other adults' behalf!

It was a short but certainly sweet visit!
