July Part 1 - Austin

Every now and then, I'll be talking to someone I haven't spoken to in a while, and they'll ask, "How are the kids??" The answer, "Totally fine!" These kiddos have no idea that the Coronavirus is anything to be anxious about, no idea there is anything to be stressed or worried about, no idea that Texas is as scary as it is. We are very "corona-privileged" in our cozy house, and we're all doing just fine.

After a return from Galveston, we spent the first half of July in Austin before moving in to Camp Nana/Zayde in Driftwood for the rest of the month. If we're gonna be stuck with these crazies, it's a sure good thing they're cute.

Spencer has been loving his daily hilarious act of bringing the straw from his finished smoothie into Daddy's smoothie.

The love for The Wiggle remains strong in this one.
(Little one has also caught the bug but became camera shy when I started recording.)

COVID entertainment

Reading is exhausting.

These bros are loving the pandemic together!

Tooth #5 out!

Gabi specifically requested that the tooth be on
the nightstand this time and that the hand sanitizer
be pre-opened so that Gabi didn't get the virus.
I hope pandemic tooth fairy wears masks.

Grandma and Grandpa sent us a 500 (!) piece United States map puzzle with the kids' names on it. We surprised ourselves by completing it in one morning, and it is now proudly displayed in our playroom.

If it was too hot to go outside, and we wanted to leave the house. Drive through ice cream cones seemed necessary.

And in conclusion-

If COVID keeps people apart, technology will
find a way to bring these crazy cousins together.

Wonderful Wednesdays

Any competent blog stalker paying a little bit of attention may notice that we have been spending sweet time with our favorite Austin family who lives just a few blocks away. Gildens and Cohens established a self-isolating pod early in the pandemic, and it has been a social game changer from how this quarantine would have been otherwise.

We show up at each other's houses, both announced and unannounced. We feed each other's children. We love each other's children. And the children certainly love each other as well. (Wednesdays seem to be the planned day of the week when many playdates happen, so I titled the blog-post in that honor.)

Ta da! All dressed and ready for water play!

Uncle Jon and Spencer try to charm Micah's new smiles out of him.

Selfies are a thing.

That time we joined forces and did virtual Havdalah with Houston Cohans and nailed our group picture:
