Drag Queen Story Time

I was so proud that our JCC in Austin hosted Drag Queen Story Hour. There was so much positive happening in that safe space, and it also provided a great opportunity for discussion in our house about how people can present however and wear whatever they want. Neither hair nor clothes makes anyone a "boy" or "girl," and my big 2 children had great thoughts to add. Kudos, JCC!

pre-story dance time

Mother Hen read a fantastically appropriate story titled I Like Myself. Gabi even wanted to meet her afterwards.

In addition to dancing streamers and dance party, rainbow goldfish for snack, and fabulous dress up clothes, there were tables set up for braiding rainbow play-dough challah. But of course, my little artist had her own ideas.

Rainbow, glitter, sparkles, joy, and pride were all around!

Oh yes, Joey wanted a picture
of his play-dough too.
