January 2019

Happy New Year, bloggers! With a cold New Year's Day and very little opened, we dragged our warm pajamas over to Chez Gilden for some fun. It turned into 5 cuties being babysat by snacks and the Rose Parade (while adults largely ignored them).

First up: Spenceman

next cracker is coming from.

This magical cabinet has seen many a cute and naked baby.

(AND the helmet's on backwards.)

A few little incidents subtly hinted that we may have to consider moving this big boy to the big table to join us for meals. (Spoiler alert: he was moved back to the high chair.)

(And by "moved back," I mean that he goes in his chair each meal until he climbs out immediately and is somehow rewarded by getting to sit in my lap, eat my food, and use my utensil.)

Sometimes, you're just not ready to get out of bed...

This month, Spencer got very excited about his stuffed animals. Here he is with some favorites.

"Meow," "Meow," and "Putty" (monkey).

"Piggie," "Quack Quack," and "Putty"

"Putty," "Pikachu," and all 3 PJ Masks

Who knew those teeny legs could stretch that much? Big sister helped provide some good modeling for responsible self-cleaning.

Every now and then, he's fast - but also gentle - enough to approach a kitty before kitty runs away.

More Spence:

The spoon is bigger than his head.

He knows he's cute.

my happy, free spirit

We went to fly a kite on a windy afternoon.
Nobody told Ethan his kite wasn't actually flying
because he sure was happy about it. (Watch
out for poor, upset brother at 9 and 20 seconds,
sitting on grass by stroller - freezing and crying.)
My sweet sweet Jewish 4-year-old
already knows most of Havdalah.

New rule (apparently): Don't leave your phone unattended while Ethan is around. (Lest you find several of these...)

Gabi had an extra exciting end of the month, captured in other blog posts. Happy 6th Birthday, Big Girl!

We tried a couple of martial arts classes. Little brother wanted to try too.

Exciting things happened in Gabi's mouth this month as she got her very first wiggly and lost tooth! It fell out at school like she wanted, so she could collect the pride of the tiny treasure box. The tooth fairy arrived right on cue, and Gabi is on her way to her new smile.

Holy smile!

We had fun at an inflatable playground celebrating Graham's birthday!

Yup...They obviously insisted that these pictures MUST be taken.

Fun fact: Gabi's tooth became
loose at this very party!

We came home from a school function late one night. I ran into the laundry room to switch clothes into the dryer.
When I emerged, these 2 had helped themselves to a calm and lovely picnic in the hallway.

Our knock knock jokes are getting better. This video does not capture that.

Guess who has 4 thumbs combined and spent kidless time together this month?!
