Total Transition Time

Despite my best efforts, these kids have kept growing up on me. In the span of 2 days' time, 100% of my children transitioned into new school environments. We were quite busy, nervous, excited, and all the feels! There was some prep-work we had to do to be totally ready of course:

We finally found the "bestest shoes ever!"

"I look like I'm in college."

Big Ethan shows off his new pre-K shoes.

This one seems way too small for this.

It was Spencer's turn first to figure out what school meant. He was not so excited about the pictures Mommy wanted to blog.

What's better than your first activity on your first day of school being Splash Day? It distracted him (kinda) from the confusion of Mommy and Daddy walking away (when usually he walks away with us).

After having a fantastic first day, (stubborn) Mommy tried again to take pictures with the sign. Spencer still was not interested. Until we found a box to stand on. Nailed it.

MEANWHILE, it was the day before Kindergarten, and with both boys occupied at preschool, it cleared up Mommy and Daddy's attention to devote one last morning with the big girl. We ventured to St. Edward's Park where we hiked, waded, explored, discovered, swam, jumped, and played.

We found a "pool" area, and with my next move, I both excited Gabi and annoyed Jon.

Then, the girls relaxed in the water for a bit while dry Daddy stayed on the sidelines.

Next, we played in a waterfall at the edge of the pool.

More nature exploring with Daddy:

A fantastic morning together was completed with a fantastic taco lunch together!

The next big day arrived!

I've been begging her to stop growing up for years. She didn't listen, and now look what she's done.
At least she has an AWESOME Wonder Woman backpack to go with it.

Ethan will do 2 years (2 different classes) of Pre-K. We are so proud of him for transitioning to his new big boy room so smoothly! No, he did not get a new backpack but wanted to take the same picture like Gabi. Yes, they did know their signs were upside down. Yes, they thought they were hilarious.

We brought a nervous 5.5 year old to elementary school and were confident she'd excel and grow both academically and socially.

As I was walking out, I snuck one more glance at my sweet girl, feeling the feels and taking it all in.
Then, she saw me peeking and flashed her confident smile at me. She's got this!

It was finally Ethan's turn to get to his new classroom! Big boy is now in the Eagles Room!

(You can peek through the window at
Spencer's toddler class outside.)

Did Mommy and Daddy cry?! Goodness, no! (Ok, Daddy teared up a little after dropping Gabi off.) We went out to a childless breakfast date together!

We celebrated after school with ice cream cone treats. It's gonna be a great year!
