on our way! |
After landing in the rainy state, we headed straight for Josh and Shari's rehearsal dinner.
We may have had some tired folks on the car ride from the airport. |
They were quickly rejuvenated with energy. (mostly from the mac n'cheese, but with some help from Uncle Joshie) |
This was the only time (this trip) the kiddos would be with the bride and groom, so it was nice to see lots of smiles together. |
groom with lifelong friend and groomsman |
Having had to go to bed without too much playtime on our first night, Gabi and Ethan were very excited to wake up at Grandma and Grandpa's house! They started with snuggles in bed with Grandpa. We got rid of Daddy to wedding festivities, and we headed to an indoor gym to escape the pouring rain outside.
Ethan had fun with dress up.
There were many styles of unique swings. |
Mommy and Daddy got ready for the black tie affair while Grandma and Grandma got ready for a night alone with the tres crazies.
Mazel Tov to Josh and Shari! We were proud to celebrate with you, honored to have Jon included by your side, and grateful for the night out! The rain held off for just enough time to sneak in a ceremony on the courtyard.
When the pressure was on, we knew how to clean up nicely.
Congrats to the happy couple, now happier! |
The next morning, we met the Fleet Family for breakfast and got to meet baby Emma for the first time!
(It was good catching up with Jared and Marni also!) |
We headed to TY Park in the afternoon to enjoy Castaway Island water park with Grandma and Grandpa. (It's always tough to get pictures while having fun at the pool, but we managed a few!)
The next morning, the kiddos checked out the temperature of the pool with Grandma. (Then, Spencer may have needed new clothes.) The kiddos enjoyed a swim in the pool another time, but with Mommy sick in bed and Daddy providing swim assistance, there was no one there to capture the memories on camera.
Not knowing if the weather was going to cooperate, we explored the Museum of Discovery and Science which had a ton of interactive exhibits for a wide range of ages.
|
Ethan enjoyed making ginormous bubbles. |
We spent a long time observing the funny otters in their habitat. |
Gabi learned about Daddy's love of aviation. |
Tuesday afternoon, we got to play with our Florida cousins and Aunt Alana! We were sad to miss Uncle Jason who had to work, but the cousins had a blast together running around their house like crazies and splashing in their pool.
redheads in action: Rylan and Ethan found entertainment under the bathroom sink. |
Gabi, Rylan, and Landon played with the pool noodles. |
Ashlyn pulled Ethan along. |
Spencer enjoyed himself just fine, making friends with Aunt Alana and Rylan along the way. (Ashlyn tried really hard too; I just didn't capture any moments.) |
The next 5 pictures tell an awesome story. (started by Landon, finished by Uncle Jonathan)
Then, it became a game of "Push me in the pool!"
To continue the night's fun, we all went out to a restaurant together and enjoyed each other's company even longer.
all 6 Cohen Cousins! |
On our last full day together, we drove to Dania Beach to enjoy one of our favorite parts about visiting Grandma and Grandpa! Having slept through the entire beach experience last summer, Spencer enjoyed himself thoroughly this time!
Ethan, as usual, LOVED jumping in the waves with any sacrificial adult who would take him.
Gabi had a grand ol' time, spending most of her time digging in the sand and building an amazing fort/castle with a Grandma assist.
All Cohens had fun playing in the sand, running in the water, and lounging at the beach. Success!

On our last night in town, Mommy and Daddy snuck out to enjoy one of OUR favorite parts about visiting Grandma and Grandpa, Jaxson's Ice Cream Parlor!
We had one more morning together, and we took advantage of every last snuggle.
We had such a good week with Grandma and Grandpa! We were sad to say Goodbye.
At the Fort Lauderdale airport, we discovered a fun interactive art exhibit and pretended to climb in the clouds.
