We celebrated in style (and in good *taste*) throughout the weekend. In the morning of his big day, he didn't seem to care at first about his celebration, but he eased into it when the special things started showing up.
It's my party, and I'll cry if I want to. | his own drum set. He wouldn't even let us finish opening the accessories; he was just too excited to get started! |
The birthday boy needed to take his morning nap, so my little kitchen helpers were at it again baking a cake and cupcakes for the party to come.
The colors were quite vibrant. |
After nap, Spencer posed for one last "month shot." I think we nailed it.
happy birthday boy |
Off to continue the celebration with Nana and Zayde at fro yo!
We had one more sweet treat that evening, tasting the cupcakes that were made by big sibs earlier in the day.
The next day, the gang showed up for a very special ONE-YEAR-OLD birthday party!
Miss Becca and Ethan warm up for the main event. |
Daddy and Gabi get ready to celebrate. |
Nora brought balloons to the party, and they were definitely a hit! |
All babies were de-clothed in preparation for the painting fun ahead!
We were grateful that Nora could join the cousin chaos just like when she was with us 4 years ago as a different baby painted away at her 1st birthday party. |
Let the Painting Party begin!
3 happy Cohen kiddos! |
Cousins Shayna and Joey added to the fun spirit. |
in his or her own different way. |
a messy and fun success |
We cleaned off the paint and got ready for cake and cupcakes. We assumed the 1-year-old would be excited about his sweet treat...
unsure... |
"This singing attention seems nice..." |
The 1-year-old was not excited about his sweet treat. At all. We were very very wrong. Mean mean parents.
The next morning, big birthday boy got to try cow's milk for the first time. (In other news, he decided that the source of the other milk he had been consuming for a full year was now evil and terrifying and refused to breastfeed.) Good thing, he really really likes this new kind!
Before capping the birthday adventure, we played with our new bath toy from cousins Noah and Sam. Spencer was not a fan.
