February Fun Before Baby Boy

The newborn laundry is washed, folded, and organized. Mommy is waddling but surviving. In the meantime, we were able to enjoy the last few weeks of family-of-fourdom!

Gabi's birthday celebration continued into early February with a free dessert offered at Barnes and Noble (to balance out the vegetables, of course).

Gabi's birthday also brought some new big kid games like Chutes and Ladders, Candyland, and our Team Cohen inaugural game of Twister! (Mommy and belly sat that one out.)

Gabi decided she was done playing and wanted to help me with the spinner. Ethan decided to play the advanced version to challenge Daddy.

Special moments with a special girl:

How do you potty?

Gabi continues to amaze us with her progress at swim lessons:
treading water in the deep end
retrieving rings from the bottom of the deep end

My prodigy of a 2.5-year-old mastered Brown Bear, Brown Bear this month. Showing off his new reading skills:
After one last study session with big sister...
...He's ready to fly on his own!
not reading, but still nerdy

It would be difficult for these boys to love each other any more than they already do.

Happy National Fro Yo Day!

Why did the ducks cross the parking lot?

Mid-month, I helped celebrate Becca's birthday at a 90's themed birthday party. While my body and I were not able to groove to the rad dance music, I still was grateful we could celebrate together!

And speaking of Ms. Becca, we squeezed in 1 more baby-free playdate with Nora:

Ethan, too, got to help walk the puppies.

These sweeties get along marvelously - as long as he does exactly what she says.

We're getting really close to welcoming baby boy into our home and our family, so we need to do some last-minute preparations to make sure everything is ready:

big sister (x2) practices pulling the wagon herself

Daddy has to make sure his swaddle skills are up to par:

Anyone can swaddle under ideal conditions...

just in case it's twins

These poor kitties haven't gotten the blog love that they deserve, and they're about to be even more outnumbered. I recently saw a Facebook memory from 4 years ago where I wrote, "It's not that I love the cats ANY less now that I have a baby; it's just that I have less hands..." Love to my feline babies, Maggie and Nikki!
poor kitties don't stand a chance

Tomorrow's a new day, and we're ready to continue the adventure!
