Happy Birthday, America!

We were geared up and excited about celebrating America's birthday! The big girl turned 240, and even though we can't make it to the fireworks quite yet, we celebrated in other special ways.

On Erev Independence Day (the night before), we had patriotic waffles with colorful fruit to get us in the spirit!

On the morning of July 4th: When you're young and playing with dolls, they don't tell you how much more fun it is to play dress-up with actual children.

We get in our wagon, grab our flags, and head to join to the neighborhood parade!

We meet up with our Gilden relatives who live on the other side of our neighborhood. Fun times had at the parade by all (regardless of method of transportation)!

The parade takes us back to the neighborhood park where they have refreshing watermelon for everyone to enjoy.

America's Birthday Party continued at the park with swings and a visit inside the fire truck.

The Austin mishpacha:

Happy Birthday, America!
