March 2016

At the beginning of March, our 2 growing babies had their well check visits with our pediatrician. Big 3-year-old Gabi is in the 96th% in height at 3' 4.1" and weighs 39 lb 6.4 oz (also 96th%!). 18-month-old Ethan is also a big boy at 33" (71%) and 28 lb 5 oz (92%). They don't get the size from Mommy's side of the family; that's for sure!

These 2 really do play nicely together - for the most part - and we're incredibly grateful for that. Gabi wants wants to show him the exciting things that she observes; she wants to teach him all of her songs; and Ethan wants to participate like all the big kids. Gabi wants Ethan to do what she's doing, and Ethan wants to do it! It is so great to watch them play and interact so beautifully together.

Gabi and Ethan were super sharply dressed for Tot Shabbat. Gabi was ready for cute sibling pictures. Ethan was not.

And, other people love these babies too:

Cheap Labor:

I'm sure screen time is more recommended when it's done together? Good thing we go outside SOMEtimes?

Togetherness this month:
never gets old
The tides have turned. Look who's feeding whom.

Big boy became a year and a half this month! He's really not a baby anymore. :(

A boy and his love of popcorn - Yes, he's only 18 months old. No, he doesn't need the WHOLE bowl of popcorn (assuming he needs any at all). Yes, I had already given him his own small bowl. Yes, he had a temper tantrum until he got the entire bowl. Yes, apparently tantrums work to get whatever it is that you want. And yes, he was pretty darn happy in the end.

It's tough to balance your interest in car mechanics with balancing a healthy diet simultaneously.

Laughing with Daddy:

I love feeding myself!

especially inappropriate drinks...

18-month-old Ethan Robert has joined his sister in having an early love of reading. He is now often found reading quietly to himself in a very sweet way. I love the attention span, the independence, and the calm demeanor.

Team Cohen calm moment of zen- Ahhhhhhh

Sibling Story Time!
He's pretty compliant and agreeable.

Little man post haircut (in other words, Mommy chased him around the kitchen with scissors until she was satisfied):

And this is how the blog post transitions into Gabi territory - sometimes amazing, sometimes 3.

nurture?

We ran into our friend Graham at Catch Air one
afternoon and had tons of fun playing with him!

This is what happens when you ignore the 3-year-old for an hour when she's supposed to be napping. Perhaps she's supposed to be supervised?

Not quite sure how this happened, but it did. I was pretty proud of myself!

still in the Purim spirit

Gabi definitely hates the spotlight:

Changing brother's diaper; I don't expect most of
you to sit through all 4 minutes, but I do expect
they'll both love this video in 15 years.

This month, we signed Gabi up to start school in May. She is learning really well at home, and it'll be great to watch her blossom in a classroom environment as well.

In other news-

The truth is, Nikki had been sitting there way too calmly for way too long before I got out the camera. #sometimessmartcat

It's fair because the kids play with their toys.

what I had the potential of looking like in March 2016

Until next month, folks! Good night and good month!
