Grandma and Grandpa Visit Austin

Grandma and Grandpa were our first birthday visitors, arriving a few days before "the big day" for some pre-celebrating. We had a great time together!

On our first day together, we went to a yummy Tex-Mex brunch. Loving Gabi warmed to Grandma and Grandpa immediately. Ethan took an extra 5 minutes, and then he was set the rest of the time!

After nap, we head to the playground around the corner from our house. Gotta love gorgeous January Texas weather!

It seems that Grandma did all the work while the rest of us took all the pictures.

2 restaurants on 2 days but still fun both times:

Trying to take a cute picture of the 2 kiddos? Semi-possible. Trying to get everyone to cooperate for Grandma to be in the picture? Not happening.

On our last day together, we head to the Austin Zoo. Our warm January disappeared for the day, but some of the animals still came out to play.

We find some animals to feed.

Ethan thinks about it...

He watches the model demonstration...
...Uhhhh, don't think so.

Another guinea pig volunteers from the audience.

Success!

We try to feed animals a second time, and Ethan decides it's not so bad after all.

Time to say, 'Bye Bye, Zoo!' Thanks for the good times!

Back at home, we get some Grandpa love:

Grandma suggested some resemblance.
Anyone else recognize similarities in these babies?

Mommy made a banana cake so that we could still light candles and sing as part of the pre-celebration!

2 wild and craaaaazy guys:

We get one more night of snuggles and stories before we have to say Goodbye. Thanks for coming, Grandma and Grandpa. See you soon!
