Joyful June

In June, Gabi is spending her last full month as a North Carolina resident...hard to believe!

She is a snuggly baby and LOVES to hold anyone's hands.  She is developing a few new emotions; we've seen fear (not a fun one) and definitely excitement.  She has also started to hold onto her bottle when drinking sometimes; that's pretty cute...until she pushes it away.  Gabi sings and talks more and more as she engages with her toys and people (as you'll see in some cute videos below), and her giggles continue to blossom.  She has started noticing herself  in mirrors, which of course to her, is a beautiful baby smiling back at her.

At her 4-month check up, Gabi weighed in at 14 lbs, 1 oz (putting her at 50th percentile in weight) and measured at 25.75 inches in length (90th percentile)!  She is now way too big for the newborn hammock in her bath tub.  Gabi will now show you how excited she is to be becoming such a big girl:

For those of you who have not experienced Gabi's singing, you are surely in for a treat...with a special bonus of seeing her play with her ball. (Yes, the light turns on. Be patient through seconds 10-40, and she'll resume the beautiful music.)

And as always, we're doing our best to brainwash all members of Team Cohen to be proud members of the Gator Nation! Thank you to Jared and Marni for providing this cute Gator dress for Gabi. (And check out the great neck action in the first picture!)

And sometimes...JUST sometimes...there is more to Team Cohen than just Gabi :). Here Mommy snuggles up with Maggie and Brook...or more like they snuggle up with Mommy.

What do you use as a pillow?

Kitten Brook thinks this is where all babies are supposed to sleep.

A baby can never have too many toys...Then again, eventually we'll start running out of room in Jasper...But for now, the ball, baby hippo, baby Jasper, AND baby Gabi STILL fit:

We're getting more stable sitting up with the Bumbo (still not ALL there though; we still do some face-planting), and it now has a tray to hold all said toys...

No matter the time of day, unless Gabi is hungry or tired, she is so super smiley! She has yet to determine the "stranger danger" idea and will flirt happily with just about anyone. The morning smiles are usually the "best" as she is ready to take on every day with an enthusiastic attitude! (Wouldn't it be great if we all followed in her lead?)

Mommy and Daddy were even able to enjoy their share of fun when Ms. Stacia offered to babysit baby Cohen and gave us a baby-free evening! A lovely dinner, delicious fro-yo, and a relaxing stroll around Historic Biltmore Village were definitely enjoyed and appreciated!

Kaye family friends, Leah and Greg, stopped by on their road trip for dinner and shmoozing. Thanks to them for Gabi's new friend "Grover" from the Grove Park Inn in Asheville. She loves it already!
