5 Months Old

As Birthdays go, Gabi has yet to spend a 28th without her mother, father, and Nana...and June 28th was no exception!  Nana AND Zayde drove in to Fletcher for their last trip while we live here and we all got to celebrate the special occasion together.

5-month-old Gabriella Daphna gets cuter by the day.  "The good book" tells us she shouldn't be smiling at people she doesn't recognize, but this girl will smile at anyone and anything.  The smiles continue to get slimier and more drooly, but they're still delicious!

As you have come to expect, we captured a fantastic photo shoot...(And as you have come to expect, she is just too cute to pick just one picture to share.):

Gabi's attention span is improving, and she is more attentive to books and read-alouds.  Most of the time, she enjoys watching and listening, but as is age appropriate, she sometimes enjoys tasting as well!

Nana and Zayde joined Team Cohen on a fun hike to Moore Coves Fall.  Having been there with Aunt Erica, Gabi showed the rest of the crew the way, and we all enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the great company!  We went behind the water, on the side of the water, and even through the water.

Daddy had his first Baby Bjorn experience. Look, Mom, no hands!

happy baby and company

nom nom nom, Mommy's hair is yummy!

All that hiking is exhausting!

After the hike, we had to continue the 5 month birthday celebrations and prepare for an evening of Mediterranean food, belly dancing, and an energy-filled drum circle....So we had ice cream!

Count those candles! Everyone's in to celebrate all 5 months of Gabi!

Sandwich Kiss!

The next day, we enjoyed a longer hike on Cat Gap Trail in Pisgah Forrest.  We got lucky with the weather both days (and with the pictures as well)!

On Saturday night, Gabi went to her very first - and last :( - "Shindig on the Green," a wonderful bluegrass and folk music/dance festival held weekly during the summers in Asheville.  Thanks to Nana and Zayde for importing our Kosher roast beef and pastrami for our delicious deli.  We all enjoyed great entertainment and a great picnic.

We tried to take some nice Debbie/Jon pictures together...

...but we may have goofed off just a little in the process.

Here are some more pictures from the fun weekend.  As Nana said, "If you're not having fun, you're not doing it right!"

Big girl was so tuckered out after her photo shoot;
good thing Nana was there for comfort.

Don't you fall asleep clutching
a ball with two hands also?

We got a good smile out of Zayde!
