Emma Long Park

We've lived in Austin for 8 years this summer. We've been to many pools, splash pads, creeks, and hikes, but we had no idea there was a beach! We met up with some friends at Emma Long Park on Lake Austin. We had soft sand, clear water, and no waves (unless a motor boat passed by and left its wake). It was a nice hidden secret (at least, for us) to discover!

The boys had way too much fun on and off the dock.

2021's had a good summer so far.

Mor and Jackie Sleepover

Yes, I know that COVID is not over. And also, thank goodness for vaccines! A year ago, we were thoroughly discouraged from seeing people outside of our family, which unfortunately, included chosen family. This meant that Aunt Mor's baby girl and even a brand new, still-to-come baby boy kept growing completely without me. Because of vaccines, Mor and Jackie could extend a weekend visit in Austin with Eric's family for a night with us. And they could come into our house. And they could play. And they could hug. And it was lovely.

Aunt Mor is very very allergic to cats. If/when she visits Team Cohen, she takes drugs. However, this meant that 1.5 year old Jackie had never met a kitty. And she was enamored! My kiddos, on the other hand, were pretty enamored with Jackie.

Never did Mor nor I imagine (almost) 30 years ago when hanging out in 2nd grade that we would one day bathe our kids together. Pretty wild reality.

After bath, Gabi took charge of showing Jackie the rest of our circus, which included the hamster and a tour of the dog crate.

Since we could, we snuck out for some fro yo and a stroll in the park after all the kiddos went to bed.

Jackie may not have understood the value of taking a quick morning picture before departing, but Mor and I (and baby boy) certainly figured it out!

Father's Day at Bull Creek

Father's Day was here once again. While we try very hard to love Daddy every day, we took it as an additional excuse to love and enjoy a little extra with our family.

We headed to one of our favorite spots along Bull Creek where we climbed, slid, swam, jumped, and so much more.

These 2 brave Cohens climbed all the way up this rock.

Gotta love a good rock slide:

Sometimes we're much too entertained by the slow-mo video setting.

To cap off our lovely adventure and outing, we enjoyed a family lunch out together! Happy Father's Day to a great partner and father to these cooky Cohen kiddos!
