Celebrating Juneteenth

We were proud once again to participate in Central Texas' Juneteenth Parade, recognizing the date that ALL enslaved African Americans were freed from slavery in the US. Not directly related to the holiday, though, we learned from last year to come with BIG bags to collect all the junk being thrown in spectators' direction.

{Note to attentive readers: Ethan, the only Cohen kiddo joining me for last year's Juneteenth parade was, in fact, the only Cohen kiddo who did not join me this year.}

Gabi to CNZ in Atlanta

Last year's very first Camp Nana Zayde (CNZ) with camper Gabi was such a success, all parties decided to give it another go! And once again, it was a win win win win win for all.

Big girl made it and found adults that she knew, who then quite literally took her to have it her way!

Schlitterbahn

All 5 of our Austin elementary school students were given the opportunity to participate in "Waves of Pages" and log at least 10 hours of reading over Winter Break. Only 2 kiddos took on the challenge, and Ethan and Joey earned free tickets to the "world's best waterpark." Off went cool mom and even cooler aunt for a day in New Braunfels with the 2 boys at Schiltterbahn.

On the road again! After over 8 hours at the park, it was time to head back north to Austin.
