Passover Prep

The timing (in the week) of Passover's start threw off when we complete our traditional ceremonial prepartions. Circumstantially, for the first time in my adult life, we both searched and burned chametz at my own house and NOT that of my parents.

But first, we had to squeeze in some final chametz and clean the house.

We searched every room in the house to get rid of the chametz.



The next morning, I'm sure our neighbors thought it was quite normal for 10 people to be in the backyard around a fire at 6:30 AM.

Bye bye, chametz. Bring on Passover!

Gators Win the National Championship

After an incredibly successful Gator Men's Basketball season, Florida's team was headed to the National Championship - around the corner in San Antonio! We didn't know if/when another similar opportunity would arrive, so we bought 3 tickets, headed to SATX after school and had a glorious - and late - night. It didn't hurt that the Gators WON!!!


We arrived at the Fan Fest about an hour before it closed and enjoyed several activities there.







On to the Alamodome for the National Championship Game!


Up to the nosebleed section where they don't even turn on the lights.

It was a stressful and close game for both teams, but in the end, Florida Gators were victorious!

Let the celebration begin!

We ran downstairs to get as close as we could to the court and the thousands of fellow celebrating Gator fans.

When dancing and celebrating, I ran into good friend Jared who flew in from Florida for the occasion!

Snuggled up with our Albert stuffie, we headed back to Austin, arriving at 1:30 in the morning. What a night that was well worth the insanity!

Misc. March 2025

The beginning of March had us finishing some leftover celebrations of Spencer's birthday from the end of the month before.

Look what else this new 8-year-old figured out how to do!

Baseball and soccer were in full "swing" this month. With Coach Craig on baseball and Coach Debbie on soccer, and cousin pairs playing on the same team, we are certainly in for a fun season.






Ethan celebrated his half birthday on March 6, and apparently snickerdoodles was a familiar treat choice.

Elementary school had a Boosterthon fundraiser, and Mommy got to watch both boys' complete their Fun Run at the end of the week.


Spencer starred as Uncle Sam in the 2nd Grade production of "Hats!" (And he had 2 doting fans in the audience.)



Ethan is already getting ready for middle school, believe it or not. He attended the Band instrument tryout and picked the clarinet.

Gabi had her first peer Bat Mitzvah in March, and she quickly learned the art of the DJ giveaways.

To start this month's Furry Friends update, we share 1 of the 2 new Gilden kitties, Matzah.


Gabi continued her horse lessons with Charlie Brown, and Ethan got to join one week to meet some of the equine friends.





More furry friends were in our presence when we dog-sat Lucy who lives across the street.

And, of course, our own furry friends were around too.
