Halloween 2016

Happy Halloween! In the morning of the special day, we found a Monster Mash festival just for preschoolers where we played games, got tons of candy, and even enjoyed a tractor hay ride.

In the evening, we got ready for trick-or-treating! Ethan was in the stroller last year but enjoyed carrying his very own pumpkin, knocking on doors, and using polite manners as he collected his treats this time around. Gabi took a few wardrobe changes before excitedly settling on...what she settled on - "I'm BATMAN! I'm a superhero!" She enjoyed finding the houses with lights on for us to visit and also enjoyed collecting the candy.

Enjoying the fruits of their labor:

October 2016

October had Jewish holidays, family, Halloween, and more. Here is the assortment of pictures we collected.

Now that cousin Joey is getting super mobile, he has been able to join us on some of our playground ventures.

This month saw Gabi's very first swim lessons. This water baby LOVED them! Here she is on Day 1:

Gabi had a strange icky virus pass through her body for a couple days this month too. She'd start off in the morning like this...

...and spend the rest of the days like this...

Baby Brother's room got a makeover this month. What had been the kitty/storage room for the past 3 years got emptied, painted, and now has furniture in it! Daddy got some help with the project:

With the baby furniture out of Ethan's room, we have some extra room for some extra guests.

BUT if baby's room has furniture, what about Ethan's furniture?? Holy big kid room, Batman! (In other news, mean 'ol Mommy decided that all these transitions should include weaning 2-year-old Ethan of his motzetz (pacifier). We nipped the tips little by little, and after only one MISERABLE night, this big boy declared sadly "not working" and slept beautifully after that. We were pleasantly shocked!)

October greeted us with a whole bunch of Jewish Holidays. In addition to Rosh Hashanah (honored in another blog post), we had lots more celebrating to do!

Keep Austin Sukkot weird?

When Nana came in town to help celebrate cousin Joey's birthday, we got to sneak off to one of our favorite places and feed the ducks at the Arboretum pond.

A trip to the Arboretum is hardly complete without a visit to the ceramic cows...obviously...

Enjoying our weekly playdate with Lily and Jonah:

Ethan is getting better with matching, sorting, and puzzles - the wings most likely play a helpful factor.

While we're not even close to pants weather in Texas, we still have reliable Fall Festivals to enjoy:

The petting zoo was a huge hit! Gabi and Ethan loved holding, petting, and feeding a variety of sweet animals.

Alas, October has now come and gone. Onto the next month!

I love how they love each other!
