September 2016

Early September is busy for our family every year with birthday chaos, and we always look forward to 'settling down' and 'returning to normal'...which only means- same high energy kids, same goofiness, just less visitors.

As part of the birthday fun in the beginning of the month, we went to a local restaurant with a playground out back. While waiting for friends to join, these 2 had fun by themselves!

Graham's daddy shared a couple great shots of these friends playing together:

same playground, same Cohen crazies, different day

Birthday presents kept on rolling in; here is tricycle #2 from Nana and Zayde that both kids were able to appreciate!

Speaking of birthday fun - On the evening of my birthday, Alyssa came to surprise and kidnap me after dinner and brought me to spend the night with some Austin favorites! I was so grateful to have some girls time with Alyssa, Lily, and Becca!

And speaking of 'returning to normal':
Ethan handles the musical entertainment.
Gabi gets a turn after all.

Grandma and Grandpa bought us a doctor outfit for dress-up and a great kit of medical tools to help with professional training. Gabi got straight to work.

The patient doesn't feel too well at first.

Dr. Gabi made him feel all better!

Examining her patient:

You may have seen the great professional pictures taken this month. You may not have seen the bribes that helped them happen:

2-year-old Ethan is quite the goofball. He talks more clearly than he did a month ago, speaking with more vocabulary and more words per sentence. He remains quite the lover and continues to laugh and sing throughout the day.

He thinks he's pretty hilarious.

"Mommy, see 'E-tan?"

3.5 year old Gabi is most definitely 3-and-a-half. She'll test for control of every situation, trying to see if her authority is going to stay consistent, while still remaining an incredibly sweet, curious, and social little being. She's a bossy leader, but she'll melt comfortably in your lap when she needs some love.

not quite ready to be up from nap yet

"Daddy, look at me!"

rocked her flu shot!

And we are ever so grateful for the bond between these siblings. They (USUALLY) play beautifully together- taking turns, sharing, and enjoying each other's company.

our shining stars!

I don't know about you, but this is how we do September in Austin:

We went to our neighborhood's festival one day. Among the many fun activities for kids, Gabi and Ethan especially enjoyed climbing into the fire truck and sheriff's car and munching on cotton candy.

Nana came in town this month for a few days, and this picture will just have to suffice for the other fun moments we had together.

Welcome to Moe's FINALLY in Austin area!

This month, we enjoyed a few playdates with our friend, Erin. Astonishingly, we got the kids to actually sit together for a couple cute pictures!
