September 2015

September was a busy month. We had just ended August with Ocean City, a visit from Erica, and Daddy's Birthday. Then, we went straight into September with 2 birthdays, birthday parties, Grandma and Grandpa visiting, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Nana visiting...And yes, Mommy got all 4 wisdom teeth out and BOTH kids had nasty viruses for over a week each. PHEW! In all that chaos, we captured some cute shots of these crazy kids.

We start the month of pictures with great shirts sent to us from Aunt Gail and Uncle Harris. They always keep us dressed our best for Gator Football! And we are always grateful for their support of our Gators and our babies!

SPOTLIGHT on 1-YEAR-OLD ETHAN ROBERT!!! Ethan turned 12 months old at the beginning of September, and he just seemed to know it was time to grow up, even though his gross motor skills have seemed to pause on their progress - Ethan continues to stand by himself, cruise forever, crawl quickly, and walk beautifully supported by as little as 1 helper finger. However he has decided it is not his time to walk independently yet. He has chosen to continue dirtying his hands and knees in the mean time while still being able to climb onto and into anything. Ethan is also in the fantastic stage where he pulls all books off of every shelf and dumps out baskets; however, he is starting to kinda sorta put objects back in said baskets.

Ethan's most amazing area of growth this month was in his language progress. His comprehension and receptive language is really impressive; his babbling actually mimics the real words sometimes; and his sign language is spectacular! He picks up on new signs VERY quickly and uses many signs rather effectively to communicate. He's less consistent with milk, water, help but has mastered please, more, eat, all done, thank you

Attention shifts briefly over to big girl Gabi. While both these kiddos had a nasty virus that took us a while to get rid of AND Gabi continues to be a developmentally appropriate 2.5 year old who tests for control and independence, she continues to be a cute, sweet, polite, and brilliant little lady with TONS of character and personality!

"Take picture of me. I'm wearing chicken hat." AND "Take picture of me. I'm eating tuna."

Gabi's been working on her hanging a lot. She's getting very strong!

Science experiment!
(All blog stalkers - young and young at heart - should try this!
It's just milk, food coloring, and dish liquid.)

It's not always easy, but it's often pretty cute:

ready for game day - GO GATORS!

Nana came to visit to help Mommy recover from wisdom teeth surgery and pay a little attention to Aunt Syssa's growing baby bump.

It's time once again for 'Photos by Gabi':

Fun with friends this month included lots of time on the new trampoline! We'll see when the novelty wears off.

See ya next month, Team Cohen fans! As Gabi would say, "PEACE OUT!"

Cohen Babies at 1 and 2.5 years

My beautiful babies continue to grow, despite me pleading for time to slow down. They each had a doctor's check up, and growing they did! Gabi measured in at 3'2" (93%) and weighed 37lb 9.6oz (98%). Ethan measured 30.25" (63%) and weighted 24lb 4oz (88%). I don't know what it's like to have small kids.

We took them to get some new professional shots taken. Gabi LOVED it, and what used to be blank stares are now beautiful smiles. Ethan, on the other hand, did not love it...but we distracted him into a few smiles.

ALL DONE!
